Mythicality

A set of 26 clay tiles and a drawing with charcoal and pastels inspired on Greek and Inca mythology after visiting Greece and noting similarities between Greece and Bolivia.

I believe that making connections is embedded in us due to our human nature and the world we live in.  Everything is connected to something, and connections are built every day.  My work reflects the connections I make between the world around me and my perspective on concepts and issues.  A lot of who we are and how we act depends on the culture we come from and what we have learned to value.  This is exactly what older civilizations did; both the Greeks and the Incas developed their societies heavily around their mythological beliefs.  Beliefs that have continued to influence later Greek and Andean societies, informing their culture and their daily activities.  Although Greeks and Incas lived in opposite hemispheres, it is easy to find similarities between their mythologies and how they affected later societies.
